    • Hamptonburgh: A Patriot Day ceremony will be held at the Orange County Arboretum at Thomas Bull Memorial Park on Grove Street in Hamptonburgh at 6 p.m. The ceremony will honor the memory of the 44 Orange County residents who lost their lives during the 9/11 terrorist attacks and will also honor the brave military personnel who serve our nation.

“Patriot Day provides an opportunity for us to join together to remember those we lost, reflect upon our blessings and recommit ourselves to the principle that freedom is not free,” Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus said in a press release. “As we honor those Orange County residents who tragically died on 9/11, let us promise ourselves that on this and every Patriots Day we will pay tribute to those who perished and keep in our thoughts and prayers those who continue to fight for our freedoms every day.”
