The Hudson Valley’s Best Pet Costumes of 2017
Here are this year's winners of the third annual WPDH Pet Costume Contest.
On Saturday Hudson Valley pet owners showed up at Petco in Poughkeepsie to show off their four legged friends' best Halloween costumes. This year a $500 cash prize was on the line for the best costumed pet of the day.
Besides a parade of pets in costumes, the Hudson Valley Ghostbusters were in attendance, posing for photos and showing off their ghost chasing vehicle. Ei's Fries was cooking up some great grass-fed burgers, Meta Marcy was doing psychic pet readings and Earth Angels Veterinary Hospital was also giving out prizes.
The whole event was to benefit Pets Alive. The no-kill shelter was the recipient of donations throughout the day.
Our first place $500 winner was Shea, a cute little Dachshund dressed a the "puppy grand slam" complete with eggs, hash browns and an owner dressed as ketchup:
Second prize went to Max the Yorkie dressed as a jailbird.
And third place went to Tinkerbell and her owners, Peter Pan and Captain Hook.
