The Arbors Fundraiser at Juan Murphy’s to Help Our Neighbors

Last week I was saddened to hear of the horrific fire at The Arbors in Hyde Park that left several families homeless. Some of the apartments will take months to repair, others will have to be totally torn down. 

Having been through my own house fire last November, I know how scary it is to suddenly be displaced, and lose your belongings and your home in a matter of hours or even minutes.

I also know I would have never gotten through it without the help of my friends, family, coworkers and the community. This is why I urge you to be part of The Arbors Fundraiser next Saturday, May 21, at Juan Murphy's 796 Main Street in Poughkeepsie from 2-8pm.

Monetary donations will be accepted at the door.  There will be live music all day, and the Red Cross will be there to provide information and show demos about Fire Safety.  There will be more information soon about what other donations are needed. If you are a musician and would like to donate your time or a business that would like to participate in the raffles, or for more information, visit the Facebook listing for the event:
