A man from the Bronx was stopped on the Taconic State Parkway, and was found to be in possession of a weapon and multiple drugs.

On Saturday at approximately 6:00 p.m. the state police cunducted a traffic stop on a 2018 Mercedes Benz 300 series on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of Pleasant Valley.

The operator, Steven Gary, age 55, of Bronx, N.Y. was was initially found to have a suspended New York State driver's license. Further investigation found that Gary was illegally in possession of a loaded Smith and Wesson semi-automatic handgun, two loaded fifteen round magazines, approximately 1.5 grams of cocaine, over 40 grams of marijuana, and a small amount of concentrated cannabis.

Gary was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon second-degree, a felony, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon third-degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, both felonies, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Criminal Possession of Marijuana.

He was arraigned in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail, or $50,000 bond.
