College is a huge decision. It's only your whole future, right? if you're looking to enter college next year, or if you're a parent and one of your kids is currently in their senior year, the choice can be quite daunting. New York state has a lot of good schools. So which one is the best?

WalletHub just released their list of the top schools in the state. The site said they compared more than 1,000 higher-education institutions in the country. across 33 key measures. Perhaps not surprisingly, Columbia came out on top, (they were 12th overall in the nation).

  2. Cornell University
  3. Hamilton College
  4. New York University
  5. University of Rochester
  6. Barnard College
  7. Vassar College
  8. Binghamton University-SUNY
  9. Colgate University
  10. Stony Brook University-SUNY

Massachusetts Institute of Technology finished top overall in the country, followed by Harvard and Princeton.
