Rabid Fox Attacks Woman in Upper Hudson Valley
Officials in Columbia County are warning people to be on the look out after a rabid gray fox attacked a woman. CBS Albany says it happened Saturday afternoon at the Roe-Jan Boat Club near Germantown
The victim told CBS that they were down near the water when the fox attacked, causing panic, screaming and confusion from the crowd that had gathered. CBS reports that someone at the party shot the fox. The Columbia County Health Department confirms the fox tested positive for rabies.
They also said this isn't the first incident in the area. Edward Coons, Director of Environmental Health Services for the Health Department, said another gray fox attacked a woman in Hudson about a month ago.
