New Rumors Surrounding Hudson Valley LEGOLAND Project
LEGOLAND representatives and local officials have been quiet about the proposed Hudson Valley theme park, but some new information has leaked out this week.
According to Mid Hudson News, Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus is still confident that the $250 million theme park will call the Hudson Valley home. Neuhaus' statements were made after he was asked about rumors that the Town of Ramapo is now reportedly the front runner for the project.
Back in November we reported that at least eight sites in Orange County were being considered by LEGOLAND, and that theme park officials had taken several trips to the area to tour the locations. While other areas in Dutchess, Sullivan and New Jersey have been rumored, this is the first we've heard about the Ramapo proposal.
It's estimated that the LEGOLAND theme park could bring in as many as 2 million visitors a year, creating a definite boost to the local economy. Below is a timeline of how the LEGOLAND project has evolved.
