It may be our first time saying that we attended a birthday party of a president. We can attend Washington’s Birthday Celebration in the Hudson Valley! This will take place at Knox’s Headquarters State Historic Site.

This historic site is known for being a museum in Vails Gate, NY.

When Can We Join Washington's Birthday Celebration In Vails Gate, NY?

This free event will take place on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Washington’s Birthday Celebration will take place from 10am until 4pm at Knox’s Headquarters State Historic Site. This location is 289 Forge Hill Road in Vails Gate.

The New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation shared historical information. They included that Major General Henry Knox was a commander during the Revolutionary War. His military headquarters were located in Vails Gate at John Ellison’s house.

The New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation also highlighted that George Washington stayed in Newburgh, NY at Johnathon Hasbrouck’s house.

It’s fascinating that there are such historical roots in the Hudson Valley especially with the first president of the United States, George Washington.

What Can We Experience At Washington's Birthday Celebration In The Hudson Valley?

We can tour the house on site during this birthday celebration. The tours during this event include 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. There will be musket firing demonstrations between the scheduled tours of Washington’s Birthday Celebration.

Did you know that we can visit Washington’s Headquarters in Newburgh? They will also be hosting a birthday celebration for George Washington. This will take place on February 14, 2026- February 16, 2026 and admission is free. There will be reenactor demonstrations, kids activities and more.
