Unexpected Visitors Get Loose on New York State Thruway
Traffic was brought to a halt on the New York State Thruway in Upstate New York after some unexpected visitors got loose.
Numerous drivers along the New York State Thruway experienced one of the most interesting commutes ever after several cows wandered onto the New York State Thruway (I-90) in Blasdell, NY.
Cows Loose on New York State Thruway
The New York State Thruway Authority (NYSTA) took to social media Monday to inform drivers that they might experience travel delays along I-90 near Exit 56 in Erie County, NY, after cows were seen running loose along the highway.
"Meanwhile, in Buffalo...There are several cows currently on the loose on I‑90 near exit 56 (Blasdell), and authorities are working to safely corral them," said the NYSTA. "Drivers in the area should expect delays and consider alternate routes."

The unexpected traffic delays prompted many to leave some creative comments regarding the loose cows. "Gotta make sure everyone moooves over for the cows," said one person. "This is how the they enforce the moooove over law," said another. And our favorite "Look on the side of the road… another broke down Cattle-lac."
Cows Corralled, But What Happened?
The NYSTA updated commuters around 3:30 p.m., saying,
"The animals have been corralled and all emergency units have cleared the scene. Delays exist. Please use caution."
A spokesperson for the New York State Police (NYSP) told WGRZ that three cows apparently escaped from a broken-down livestock trailer that was parked on the shoulder of I-90. First responders were able to corral two of the cows "fairly quickly", but catching the third one wasn't so easy, as it eluded police for a while before its owners were able to corral it.
Thankfully, none of the animals or any humans were injured at the scene.
