Huge Blues Festival Coming to Ulster County
If you appreciate rock and roll, then you probably appreciate the blues. So many rock and roll songs were inspired by blues songs. And so many of our favorite rock and roll bands did covers of old blues tunes. The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and Aerosmith just to name a few. Yup, the blues and rock and roll go hand in hand.
If you are one of those people who can’t get enough of the blues, then make plans to be in Ulster County on Saturday, July 23 for Blues on the Farm: Cider, Blues and BBQ from noon - 7PM at Stone Ridge Orchard, 3012 Route 213 in Stone Ridge. This is going to be an exciting day of food, drink, and amazing music in one of the most beautiful settings in the Hudson Valley.
The day will feature musical performances from some of the best musicians known to the Hudson Valley area. The lineup of 5 bands includes Good Rockin’ Marty, Willa Vincitore & Company, Chris Bergson & Ellis Hooks, Clarence Spady, and the Chris Bergson Trio, and New York Blues Hall of Fame inductee Elly Wininger will perform acoustic sets throughout the day. Plus, a farmers market, a tasting room for local ciders, New York beer, wine, cocktails, wood-fired pizza, vendors, and food trucks. That’s what I call an awesome Blues Festival.
There will be free parking on-site, and be sure to bring your chairs and blankets. Umbrellas and pop-ups will only be permitted in the back of the field, so they do not obstruct the audience's view of the stage. No outside food or beverages and no coolers. Gates open at 11AM. Rain date is July 24. For more information, visit the Stone Ridge Orchard website.
