Hudson Valley Resident Dies in Head-On Crash

A head-on crash in Westchester involving an Ulster County man and Dutchess County woman left one dead.

On Saturday around 6:00 p.m., New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks responded to Albany Post Road for a reported head-on auto collision.

According to State Police, 46-year-old Manuel Collaguazo of Kingston was traveling northbound on Albany Post Road when his vehicle entered the southbound lane. Collaguazo’s 1995 Honda struck a 2010 Mercedes-Benz, driven by 55-year-old Patricia Jackson, of Poughkeepsie, head-on. Police haven’t determined what caused Collaguazo to enter the southbound lane.

Collaguazo was pronounced deceased at the scene. Jackson was transported to Westchester Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
