Head On Crash Kills One Police Need Your Help
If you were traveling through Orange County on Thursday October 24th, 2024 on State Route 32 between Newburgh and Plattekill yesterday around 11 AM the Town of Newburgh Police Department may want to speak with you.
Yesterday late morning at approximately 11:12 AM according to a press release sent out today by the Town of Newburgh Police Department, a fatal accident occurred in the vicinity of 1001 State Route 32. The accident apparently was a head on collision between two vehicles.
Newburgh Police Seek Information About a Thursday Morning Accident
The accident caused State Route 32 to be closed for a period of time yesterday during the day in order for police to investigate the cause. Now Town of Newburgh Police are hoping anyone who happened to be in that area yesterday and may have witness the accident or anything leading up to the moment of the collision to please contact them with any information.

According to the press release sent out today the accident involved a 2007 Ford Econoline Van driven by Leonel Marquez-Martinez 36 of Wallkill which was traveling south on State Route 32 and a 2015 Chevy Volt being driven by Marcus Bennett 26 of Montgomery which was travel north on Route 32. It was also reported that the driver of the Volt, Marcus Bennett died at the scene.

The Town of Newburgh Police Department were assist at the accident scene by the New York State Police, Plattekill Police, Town of Newburgh EMS, Cronomer Valley Fire Department, Plattekill Fire Department and the Orange County Medical Examiner's Office.
