A local Hudson Valley basketball team will be appearing on SportsCenter, but not so much for their athletic ability.

ESPN's fan correspondent, Reese Waters, recently visited the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park to highlight the Steels basketball team. The players, who are also students at the CIA, were in on the joke, as well as the coaches and instructors at the school.

In one scene a player is shown working the lunch service at the American Bounty restaurant and then quickly running over to the gym to change from his apron and chef hat into a uniform so he can join the rest of his teammates who are already warming up for the game.

Other scenes highlight the challenges of being on a basketball team at the culinary school and the myth that chefs known for not always being in the best of shape. The Steels, which are named for the tool that's used to keep knives sharp, finished their season last week with 7 wins and 8 losses.

The segment is scheduled to air on the late night edition of SportsCenter on Feb 23 and will be repeated all morning on Feb 24. The clip will also be posted at ESPN.com
