The famous Hudson Valley Christmas egg has officially returned, and he's agreed to a rare interview.

Eggbert has been greeting boys and girls of the Hudson Valley since 1972. The Christmas Egg holds court at Devitt's Nursery and Supply in New Windsor each year, asking children what holiday gifts they desire and sending the information directly to Santa himself.

We had the rare opportunity to speak with Eggbert face-to-shell before his official arrival on Black Friday. Not only did we learn a few secrets about this elusive egg, but we also got to ask him some burning questions we've been curious about for years.

Eggbert's visitors get to experience "Christmas on the Farm" at Devitt's nursery. A series of displays lead Eggbert's guests through a wondrous candy land, a magical ski slope and an antique garage equipped with a giant slot car track where kids can control their own vehicles.

This year a whole new building has been added to the farm that includes a kid-sized train ride. The impressive train loops around an enormous tree that is surrounded by thousands of lights dangling from the ceiling. Children can ride the train before they disembark at the farm's post office. There, they write letters to Santa that can be mailed in Eggbert's magical mailbox.
