DA: Hudson Valley Man Fired Shots That Hit Home
A Hudson Valley man is accused of shooting in a residential area, striking a home at least twice.
On Friday, 33-year-old Kevin Green of Kingston was indicted by an Ulster County Grand Jury on multiple felonies in connection with a shooting in a residential area of Kingston on June 5.
Green was charged with three separate felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of reckless endangerment.
Just after 10 a.m. on June 5, Kingston police responded to 911 calls for shots fired in the area of West Pierpont Street and Hone Street.
An investigation revealed that at least two shots struck a house in the area, police say. Green was found a short time later allegedly in possession of a gun at his home.
Green told police he fired shots claiming he was defending himself against others who threatened to harm him, according to the Ulster County District Attorney's Office.
Green has numerous felony convictions and cannot legally possess a handgun in New York State, officials say.
Green faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
