Construction began earlier this Spring in the Town of Wappinger, with Dutchess County's current biggest construction project on Myers Corners Road between All Angels Hill Road and State Route 376.  The 15 month project appears to be running on schedule, with construction expected to last through next June.  The Dutchess County DPW recently released some updated information about the project that may impact your travel plans.

According to a post on the Dutchess County Government facebook page:

PLEASE NOTE: Starting on or about Wednesday, August 15th, a small section of roadway near Brothers Road will be reduced to one lane for approximately six weeks with an alternating traffic pattern controlled by flaggers and temporary traffic signals, including egress from Brothers Road, as crews begin replacing a drainage culvert.

All local businesses remain open on Myers Corners Road and patrons are encouraged to utilize DeGarmo Hills Road for the easiest access to DeGarmo Plaza and neighboring businesses.

If travel through the construction area cannot be avoided, please plan for additional time and exercise extra caution, obey the posted speed limits, traffic advisory signs, and the directions from flaggers in the work zone to ensure the safety of workers and other motorists.
