Legendary rock drummer Carl Palmer (Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Asia) brings his ELP Legacy show to Bearsville Theater in Woodstock this Sunday, April 22 at 8pm.
Since 2001, Carl has fronted a 3 piece power trio performing the rock hits of ELP without keyboards.
Carl Palmer was voted one of the 10 Greatest Drummers of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine and he was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 1989. Palmer's been in the music business for over 50 years. Bands like Iron Maiden and Dream Theater have cited Emerson, Lake & Palmer among their influences. ELP formed out of London in 1970, with Carl Palmer on drums, Keith Emerson on keyboards and singer/guitarist Greg Lake and they were one of the most popular and commercially successful progressive rock bands of the 1970’s. Brain Salad Surgery was one of Emerson, Lake & Palmer's most successful releases. The band's fourth studio album, it featured the rock radio hit, "Karn Evil 9: First Impression, Pt. 2".
