Car Demolishes Popular Hudson Valley Deli & Pizzeria, 2 Injured
A popular Hudson Valley deli and pizzeria was destroyed after a car drove through it, leaving two injured.
On Saturday around 7:30 a.m., Town of Marlborough Police Department responded to Kirky's Deli & Pizza, located at on Route 9W in Milton.
Jamel Donaldson, 25, of Newburgh fell asleep while driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee south on Route 9W, police say. His Jeep then veered off the road and into a ditch. The impact caused the car to go airborne and collide into Kirky's and a parked car, according to police.
Photos, which can be seen below, show the eatery completed destroyed by the crash. A third parked car was damaged by debris.
Donaldson was taken to a local hospital for undisclosed injuries. A customer was inside during the crash but luckily only suffered minor injuries, according to police.
Authorities didn't announce if any charges were filed but say the investigation into the crash continues.
