Amazon Inc, has unveiled the new Prime Now quick delivery service, in New York City.

The new service was started on Thursday, using just one zip code but others have been added. With the service, comes the promise of delivery in under an hour in New York between 6 am and Midnight. They aim to begin this service in other cities in 2015.

For a delivery within the hour Amazon will charge $7.99, where if you choose two-hour delivery, it's free. There are over 25,000 items available under the new Prime Now program. The program is only available to Amazon Prime members, which includes a $99 annual membership fee.

Several analysts tried the service out, and did receive their products in less than an hour. This type of service is becoming very popular among online retailers and company's such as Macy's are starting things like this for their customers.

Amazon has been testing it for a few weeks using bike messengers, and have rented a building across from the Empire State Building, which was once the site of a department store.
