A woman is fighting to keep her beloved pet.

And by pet, we mean a 15 year-old, nearly six foot long alligator named Rambo.

Mary Thorn of Lakeland, Florida adopted Rambo eleven years ago. Thorn told the Orlando Sentinel that Rambo is somewhat of a local celebrity. He apparently wears human clothes, rides along the back of a motorcycle, and even has his own bedroom in Thorn's home.

Mary keeps his snout taped shut when they're out in public. She even claims that she's trained not to bite or attack and that he loves kids. Well, okay.

Thorn has owned Rambo with a license for all these years but due to his increasing size, that might all change. According to Florida Fish and Wildlife. if a pet alligator reaches six feet, they're required by law to have two and a half acres of land available.

Not only does Thorn say that she doesn't have the extra land, she claims Rambo wouldn't be able to use it because of a sensitivity to sunlight.

Thorn has owned Rambo before the two and half acre rule was put into effect, so she might still be able to keep him. She has also stated that she doesn't want to give him up any sort of special reptile attractions due to his docile demeanor and sensitivity to sunlight.

According to Inside Edition, Thorn lost her son last year and that her scaly potty trained pet is the only thing that keeps her going.
