I guess I'm going to have to stop complaining about winter. Yeah, it's cold, but there is so much to do here in the Hudson valley this time of the year. Lots of winter festivals and carnivals, not to mention plenty of winter sports. And there is yet another winter celebration coming up this Saturday.

This Saturday, Jan. 12, head to the Annual Winterfest and Chili Contest from 11 am - 2 pm at the Hudson Valley Rail Trail Rotary Pavilion at 101 New Paltz Road in Highland. It's only $2 to get in, and kids 6 and under get in for free. There will be a chili contest to warm you up. It's only 50 cents for a taste, or you can taste them all for only $8. That's a great deal. There will also be marshmallows, chestnuts, tractor rides, and there will also be hotdogs, coffee, cocoa, water, and snacks for purchase. And they're offering a great deal. Receive $5 in food tickets if you become a member of the Hudson Valley Rail Trail.
