Remember, that there could be trees down when you leave the house or leave work. Allow for extra time to get where you are going and never drive over downed powerlines.
What is the definition of a Wind Advisory?
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) a wind advisory is "Strong winds are occurring but are not so strong as to warrant a High Wind Warning. Objects that are outdoors should be secured and caution should be taken if driving."
How gusty are these winds supposed to be in a Wind Advisory?
Depending on where you are located a Wind Advisory is issued when the winds are expected to gust anywhere between 31 and 57 miles per hour.
