Valentine's Day is just days away, and this year you can head to Sullivan County to celebrate in one of the best ways ever. It's a Valentine tribute to our country's bravest men and women. Those who risk their lives for us every day.

The Sullivan County Veterans Service Agency will host a Valentines for Vets exhibit in the lobby of the County Government Center, 100 North Street in Monticello starting tomorrow, Feb. 13 and running through this Friday, Feb. 15 from 9 am - 5 pm.

Every year, local students create special Valentine’s Day cards to brighten the lives of veterans and to show them how much we appreciate their service. Last year, thanks to the efforts of teachers and students, more than 2,000 valentines were delivered to hospitalized veterans at the VA medical centers in Castle Point and Albany.

The Valentines for Vets program is part of the National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans Week. For more information, contact the Veterans Office at 845-807-0233.
