All it took was a flick of the switch. CNBC says that investigators from two cities were seeking the renters of a house for sale that was wired to explode if someone had turned on a light switch. Police are saying an explosion would have caused significant destruction.

Both the Boston and Milton police departments are seeking the person (or persons) who abandoned the house. Bomb squad technicians are taking the threat very seriously, according to police.

Milton Police Chief Richard G. Wells Jr. told reporters Tuesday that the homeowner, his attorney and an electrical inspector were conducting a pre-sale inspection when the electrician discovered the mechanism.. Boston police bomb specialists worked in the house for several hours before declaring it disarmed and safe.
