Police: Pougkeepsie Man Choked and Hit Teen in Head With Glass

State Police arrested a Pougkeepsie man after they say he choked a teenage female victim and hit her in the head with a glass bottle.

In February, State Police received a law enforcement referral about a possible assault of a 17-year-old Poughkeepsie woman. An investigation revealed that 28-year-old Jay T. Gladson, of Poughkeepsie, chocked the teen and struck her in the head with a glass bottle during a domestic dispute in the City of Poughkeepsie.

Gladson was located on Thursday at City of Poughkeepsie Court for unrelated charges. Police charged him with 2nd-degree assault, aggravated family offense, felonies and criminal obstruction of breathing, a misdemeanor.

Gladson was arraigned at the City of Poughkeepsie Court. His next court appearance is scheduled for Friday.
