Police: Man Punches and Bites Officer During Traffic Stop
A Dutchess County man is facing felony assault charges after he allegedly puched and bit an officer during a traffic stop.
On Saturday, Mat,19, 2018, at approximately 9:55 p.m. a Town of Poughkeepsie officer pulled a vehicle over that was speeding on South Road.
The officer, following an investigation, attempted to place the driver into custody for DWI, when he began to resist.
The driver punched and bit one officer and caused minor injuries to a second officer on scene. the driver was eventually placed into custody.
The driver, identified as Rony Ariel Ramos-Perez, 28, of Wappingers Falls was arrested and charged with Assualt second-degree, Aggravated DWI, Resiting Arrest, and Obstruction of Governmental Administration.
Ramos-Perez was arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail, or $200,000 bond.
