A Forestburgh man has been arrested and charged with robbing the Chase Bank in Monticello, police say. 

Monticello police arrested Eduardo Torres, 39 of Forestbugh, NY and charged him with Robbery third-degree, and Grand Larceny third-degree.

Torres was arrested following a police investigation into the robbery. According to a press release, Torres entered the bank and hand a female teller a note demanding that she hand over money to him.

The teller handed over $5,300 to Torres, who then fled out the rear entrance to the bank.

Torres was located at his home in Forestbugh, NY two days later by Monticello Police, who were assisted by New York State Police.

Torres is being held in the Monticello Police lockup pending an arraignment Friday.
