Police say that a Highland man was shot and killed over the weekend, after he stabbed three people. The Poughkeepsie Journal reports that NY State Police were called to a home in Plattekill after reports of a disturbance. 25 year-old Rodshan Pittman was reportedly killed as a result of gunshot wounds he received from family members of the stabbing victims, according to police.

The Poughkeepsie Journal says that a male and two females were injured and were later transported to the MidHudson Regional Hospital of Westchester Medical Center and treated for injuries that were not life threatening.State police said they could not comment on the extent of the victims' injuries. Police said they could not comment as of now on whether Pittman knew the stabbing victims or his shooter.

Police went on to say that no charges are being filed at this time and the investigation will remain open, pending a possible ruling by a grand jury.
