A 911 call during a domestic dispute led to a Hudson Valley man's arrest, and seizure of firearms. 

Saugerties Police responded to a 911 report of a domestic dispute in which the female caller locked herself in the bathroom after being struck by the male.

Upon police arrival, 911 notified officers that it sounded as though the male subject gained access to the bathroom, a struggle ensued and the female could be heard screaming prior to the phone disconnecting, according to a press release.

Police entered the residence and located both of the parties. The victim reported to officers that the male had choked her, stole her wedding ringsoff her fingers, punched her in the head, and blocked her from her from grabbing her cell phone to call for help.

Richard J. Delgado, Jr., 42, of Saugerties, who has a  no harass order currently in place protecting the victim resulting from a previous incident was taken into custody by police and processed at police headquarters.

Delgado has been charged with Criminal Contempt second-degree, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, Criminal Mischief fourth-degree, and the violation of Harassment in the second-degree. 

A number of firearms at the residence were also seized by police.

Delgado was arraigned and released on his own recognizance incidental to the court issuing a Stay Away Order of Protection on behalf of the female victim. Delgado is due back in court at a later date to answer to his charges.
