A New Jersey judge has ruled that a pair of twins have different fathers.

Judge Sohail Mohammad made the ruling earlier this week in a paternity case.

It is possible, but very rare to give birth to twins with two fathers. It can happen when the woman has sexual intercourse with two different men and has ovulated two eggs which are available to be fertilized.

This case came to light when the woman was trying to to get child support payments from the man she thought was the father of her daughters. The paternity test showed that he was definitely the father of one, but excluded him as the father of the other child, as reported by ABC.

The man now owes $28 a week in child support payments.
