NY Alcohol Company Wants to Develop Drinkable Marijuana
Anyone wanna knock back a few cannabrews?
As more and more states legalize the recreational use of marijuana, one international alcohol company in Victor, New York (just southeast of Rochester) wants to make drinkable marijuana a reality.
UpstateNY.com says that Constellation Brands is purchasing a 9.9 percent stake in Canopy Growth Corporation, an Canadian marijuana business out of Ontario. Their goal is to eventually bottle drinkable non-alcoholic cannabis products once it is legalized nationwide. Constellation CEO Rob Sands feels it's just a matter of time before that happens.
Constellation began in 1945 as Canandaigua Wine Company, and now owns and distributes beers such as Corona and Modelo, as well as Ruffino wine, and Svedka vodka.
MTblog is saying the deal won't be finalized till the third quarter of 2018 so we've got a bit of a wait.
