Dutchess County has received the first round of grant money, and will begin work improving sidewalks throughout the County.

Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro has announced that the first round of grant awards totaling $334,599 to be awarded through Dutchess County’s 2019 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.

The awards are part of the almost $1.5 million in funding awarded in 2019 through the CDBG and HOME Investment Partnership programs to improve accessibility, expand affordable housing options and address critical public service needs.

County Executive Marc Molinaro said:

In our cities, villages and hamlets, sidewalks connect residents to their neighbors, parks and the local businesses that define our communities. We are investing in those connections by making our communities accessible to every resident of every ability – and that is the heart of our Community Development program. These CBDG funds will enhance the quality of life for countless residents, and Dutchess County is proud to partner with our local communities to improve accessibility, make new connections and further define our sense of place and the character of our county

The $334,599 will be used for Municipal Sidewalk Projects in the Town of Amenia, Village of Millerton, Village and Town of Pawling, and the Village of Tivoli.

More information can be found on the Dutchess County website. Additional Awards will be announced in the next several weeks.
