I'm a big fan of shopping local.  It not only help out our neighbors in business, it's also a great way to get a one of a kind or unique gift for someone on your list.  Today I will share some of my favorite local shopping spots.

For locally handmade gifts and products, great quality yarns, vintage and new stuff, unusual toys, and even knitting lessons, visit Sharyndipity on Route 44 in Millbrook at Arrowsmith Forge.  Anther shop featuring handmade and local is Created with Love Boutique on Route 376 in Wappingers Falls...make sure you check out the awesome jewelry made with guitar strings!

Looking for gifts of beauty and health?  Pick up something from Hudson Valley Skin Care.  They use all natural local products to make their soaps, lotions, and salves. Visit hudsonvalleyskincare.com. to see all the products and locations.

And when you're feeding hungry guests, try a platter or more from Elia's Catering Company and House of Sausage in Highland.  Meats, cheeses, and so much more.  The beef jerky makes a great gift!

I hope this helps you this holiday season to shop local!
