Movie Shooting in Mid Hudson Valley Adds 6 Big New Stars
A film that started shooting yesterday in Kingston has added some big names to its cast.
The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Ken Jeong, David Koechner, Tituss Burgess and Peyton List are among six new stars that have been added to the cast of Departures, currently filming in Ulster County.
As we previously reported, the film is a teen drama that centers around a young person battling a terminal illness who wants to complete everything on her odd bucket list before dying. The girl's friend, Calvin, helps her with the quest while dealing with his own personal issues.
Jong, best known for his work in the hit television shows Community and Dr. Ken as well as his breakout role as Mr. Chow in The Hangover movies, will play Officer Al, a sympathetic police officer. David Kouchner best known for playing Champ Kind in the Anchorman films and sleaze ball manager, Todd Packer, on NBC's The Office, will play Calvin's father. Tituss Burgess, currently starring in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix will play a flight attendant.
Sonya Walger from Lost, Margot Bingham of Boardwalk Empire fame and actress Peyton List round out the rest of the cast which includes previously announced stars Maisie Williams, and Asa Butterfield.
There is currently a casting call for local Hudson Valley residents to serve as background actors in the film. The production company is searching for younger looking actors who are over the age of 18. They’re in need of all different types and ethnicities, so if you know anyone who has a “baby face,” you should encourage them to send in a headshot.
