Spins Bowl Opening at Former Hoe Bowl After $2 Million Renovation
A Poughkeepsie bowling alley has undergone a $2 million renovation and has set a date for their grand reopening. The former Hoe Bowl on Taft Avenue will relaunch as Spins Bowl New York on Jan. 21.
The renovation included upgrades throughout the building, including the installation of 34 Brunswick state of the art lanes. Eight of these lanes are located in a VIP lounge. The new bowling experience lets people of all skill levels participate.
"We are thrilled with the new Spins décor, which is the sort of industrial chic feel you would expect in a Brooklyn location," Bill Diamond, owner and partner at Spins Bowl, said in a press release. "Our centers will have a strong focus on craft food and beer, and deliver top shelf entertainment activities for families and adults. We believe that Spins Bowl Poughkeepsie will be the premier private event destination for Dutchess County."
While bowling remains their focus, they will eventually have a lot more to offer. The 50,000 square foot facility will house a 4,000 square foot laser tag arena as well as a 4,000 square foot arcade with more than 50 games. Spins will also be offering up air hockey foosball and dart games.
Group rentals will be available for parties and other functions, giving bowlers a minimum of two hours of bowling--including glow-in-the-dark "Cosmic Bowling" with a dance club atmosphere featuring laser lights.
The grand opening festivities on Jan. 21 kick off at 6PM, with the lanes getting christened at 7PM with unique "Roll-Off": VIP bowlers will simultaneously roll their ball down their respective lanes.
