While Gov. Hochul was visiting Dutchess County earlier this week, she found something interesting and wanted to spread the word.

Governor of NY and Local Congress Man Make Stop in Poughkeepsie, New York

We're inching closer and closer to the 2024 election and the campaign trail is a busy place to be.

Governor Kathy Hochul and Congressman Pat Ryan made their way around the Hudson Valley earlier this week, making a stop in Dutchess County to pick up some sustenance for volunteers.

The duo visited the new Moonrise Bagels location across from Marist College on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024. In a press release from the popular bagel shop they write:

Governor of New York State, Kathy Hochul and Congressman, Pat Ryan visited local Hudson Valley business Moonrise Bagels, home of the Original Stuffed Bagel in Poughkeepsie, NY. They ate bagels and drank coffee and tea at Moonrise Bagels and then brought breakfast to volunteers on the campaign trail.

While at Moonrise Bagels Gov. Hochul found something interesting and wanted to spread the word.

Governor Kathy Hochul Finds Vindication at Moonrise Bagels

As Governor Hochul fueled up at Moonrise Bagel she made an interesting observation. And it had nothing to do with politics.

Apparently, a few years ago she had mentioned that her favorite spreads was maple syrup cream cheese. According to the Governor she got a little bit of heat for it, as the public said they had never heard of such a combination before.

Well, thanks to Moonrise Bagels, Governor Hochul was vindicated. Take a look:

I too have never heard of Maple Syrup cream cheese, but now that I know it's a thing...I might have to head to Moonrise Bagels to give it a try.

Moonrise Bagels Locations Pop Up Across The Hudson Valley

For those unfamiliar, Moonrise Bagels has been on the up and up across the mid-Hudson region. Owners and bakers Jeremy Rhodes and Ali Chetkof Rhodes began stuffing their bagels with ingredients like pizza, buffalo chicken and bacon, egg and cheese back in 2020 for their friends during the Pandemic.

Tea Shops of the Hudson Valley

These aren't your typical tea shops. They are all very traditional while offering something out of the ordinary. Making a Tea Trail to all of these shops would be very rewarding. They all have tea in common but each has something special they offer in addition to fine tea. Explore this gallery then go explore this Trail of Tea.
