Say hello to one of the Yankees' newest sluggers, 23 year-old catcher Gary Sanchez.

It's only taken 23 games for the Yankees rookie to hit eleven career home runs. That's faster than anyone in Major League history.

Take a minute and think of some of the names of those who came before him. And to top that off, he's already got thirty two hits.

According to Wikipedia, Sanchez, out of the Dominican Republic, first signed with the Yankees in 2009 as an international free agent.

He's made quite a few stops before coming to the Bronx. After signing, Sanchez has played for Yankees minor league affiliates in Tampa, Staten Island, Charleston, SC, Trenton, NJ, and Scranton/Wilkes Barre, PA.

On October 3, 2015, Sanchez played his first game in the Majors as a pinch hitter.

He found himself back in Scranton to start 2016, but was once again called up on August 3.

The Times Herald says that Sanchez is hitting .400 with 11 home runs, and 21 RBI in only 21 games this year.

He's definitely proved to be a bright spot for Yankees fans this season, and with AROD gone and Teixeira retiring at the end of the season, he could potentially be one the next big stars for the organization for may years to come.

Sanchez went long again Saturday, in the Yankees' 13-5 route of Baltimore. It ended up being his first Major League "curtain call".
