Hudson Valley Teen on Life Support After Hit By Car While Skateboarding
A Hudson Valley teenager is on life support after he was hit by a car while riding his skateboard.
Carmel Police say 14-year-old Michael Bongiovanni, of Mahopac was traveling on his skateboard, without on helmet, on Kia Ora Boulevard near the intersection of Brookside Road, when he was hit by a vehicle.
Emergency responders arrived and found the boy lying in the road as residents in the neighborhood performed CPR.
According to Tapinto.net, Police believe the teenager ignored a stop sign. No charges have been filed against the unnamed driver.
The boy was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center with a severe head injury.
The New York State Police and Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department assisted the Carmel Police at the scene.
