Nothing breaks my heart more than seeing a pet split up from their family. Whether it be by accident, with the animal running away, or the owners leaving the pet to fend for themselves it is just gut wrenching.

The Hudson Valley is known for being compassionate when it comes to helping out our local animal shelters and finding animals homes. Earlier this month the Hudson Valley saved a dog from being put to sleep after a posting on Craigslist.

This time we need help finding a dogs owner.

The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department released a photo on Monday, July 30th of a large, male dog who was found wandering around on Church Street. As of Tuesday morning, the dog is staying at the Dutchess County SPCA and the owner has not been located.

Take a look at the handsome pup below:

Do you know this dog? Have you seen his owner?

One Facebook commentor made a great suggestion, straight out of a movie. This pup could be the new station dog for the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department.

If you have any information on the dog or his owner contact the DCSPCA at (845)452-7722.
