Good news for those of you traveling this fourth of July weekend. And if you weren't traveling because it was too expensive, well, good news for you, too!

Apparently, gas prices for this time of year are the lowest they've been in twelve years. Nationwide, the average gallon of gas currently costs $2.24; in New York, that number is $2.43. If the price drops another two cents, it will be the cheapest average gas price of the 21st century.

That's pretty insane, and it's going to make traveling this weekend a lot easier for some (though, it'll probably cause more traffic, too). We are warned that it's a minute-by-minute thing, and that anything could happen around the world that results in a gas price increase. But for now, let's just enjoy being able to drive around with relative ease to see our friends and family this weekend.
