Zack Hample, the fan who caught the ball, was offered memorabilia, season tickets and a few other promotional items in exchange for handing over the baseball. Instead, he refused and told the New York Yankees the ball is not for sale, yet. According to ESPN, Hample had this to say.

"I think that someone like Derek Jeter or Alex Rodriguez, who has made half a billion dollars in his career, doesn't really need a favor from a normal civilian and a fan like me. I don't know right now if I'm going to sell it.
