Do you love the idea of eating fresh, local food?  Would you love to know how to grow your own, even if you live in the city?  Then clear your calendar for April 29 and 30, and head to the City of Newburgh for The Newburgh Urban Farming Fair from noon to 5 p.m. rain or shine at the Safe Harbor Green on the corner of Broadway and Liberty Street, in the City of Newburgh.

An opening reception at Newburgh Armory on April 29 will feature a keynote address by Karen Washington, urban farmer and food justice advocate.  The outdoor fair on April 30 will celebrate urban farming with local exhibitors, and include crafts and family fun.  You will learn about gardening and farming in an urban setting, and get practical tips about what you can do in your own neighborhood and backyard.

The fair will include attractions for all ages, including a puppet show, tips on worm composting , crafts and seed planting projects, and a food waste reduction demonstration.   For more information, go to Facebook.com/NewburghUrbanFarmingFair.
