Congratulations to the Hudson Valley's Scott Bateman!

The 52-year-old author and filmmaker from Beacon took an online test in January 2015 to appear on the nightly game show hosted by Alex Trebek. By June 2015, he was auditioning for the show in Boston.

Then, a year later he was on his way to California to appear for an actual taping.

Now, we'll all see how well Scott did Wednesday night at 7 p.m. The episode was actually taped July 22, but Bateman is sworn to secrecy. He told the Poughkeepsie Journal:

I can’t get into game play and results.

One of the hardest parts of the show, according to his Poughkeepsie Journal interview?

The buzzer is the hardest, weirdest thing. It’s a little bit unwieldy. It’s bigger than you think it’s going to be.

This isn't his first foray into game shows. The Poughkeepsie Journal says he won $100,000 a few years back on Who Wants to be a Millionaire?.

Wish Scott the best of luck!
