Allegedly, the woman nearly struck the officers as she drove off, causing them to jump out of the way.
On Sunday, at approximately 5:23 a.m. City of Newburgh Police responded to a residence on Benkard Avenue for a domestic dispute.
Officers arrived and separated the male and female parties, and during the investigation determined that no crime had been committed.
The female party, identified as 23-year old Odarly Rodriguez-Reyes,became upset and began to leave the area towards a motor vehicle. Officers followed the vehicle into Cornwall, where the vehicle rear-ended another vehicle on Route 9W south of the hospital.
Ms. Rodriguez-Reyes was then taken into custody and transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The other motorist was also transported to the Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
