‘Disturbing Incident’ at Area High School Triggers Investigation

School officials are calling it a "very disturbing incident" that reportedly involves illicit photographs.

Not much information has been officially released about the incident that has led to an investigation and the discipline of several local high school students. But according to the Examiner News, students appear to have violated the privacy of special needs students in what the school describes as a "reprehensible" act.

Parents in a Northern Westchester school district received a letter explaining that the school was investigating an incident that violated the privacy of some students. The letter came from Bedford Superintendent of Schools Dr. Joel Adelberg and Principal Dr. Brett Miller and was directed to parents of students at Fox Lane High School.

The Examiner News has uncovered a message that was distributed online last week seeking information from the public about the incident. According to the flyer, a $1,000 reward was being offered “for information leading to the person or persons responsible for taking inappropriate photos and videos of special needs students on 2^nd floor A WING Bathroom.”

No official information about the incident at Fox Lane High School has been released by local authorities or the school district, but the school did acknowledge that the parents of the victimized children have been notified and are working with investigators. The school went on to explain that the behavior displayed by those involved in the incident was "egregious" and needs to be addressed by the entire community.

Of course, the community won't be able to address anything until more information is officially released about the incident or the students who allegedly committed the invasion of privacy. Because an investigation is still ongoing, police have not commented on the situation, but we expect more information to be released as the investigation concludes.
