Washington's Headquarters State Historic Site in Newburgh will once again be celebrating George Washington's Birthday this weekend, Feb. 16 -18 from noon - 4 pm at the site on the corner of Liberty and Washington Streets in Newburgh.

There will be music, military demonstrations, crafts for kids and adults, and historical presentations. All three days the General will be greeting visitors in his office, with Martha joining him on Sunday and Monday. Balladeer Thad McGregor will be offering musical entertainment in the dining room.  On the grounds, reenactors will be performing military drills.  Lectures and talks are scheduled throughout the weekend.

The Washington Project: History Comes Alive! will take place each afternoon. Students from the Newburgh Enlarged City School District will present their own individually created theatrical and musical performance pieces featuring interpretations of historic events that took place while Washington was at his Newburgh Headquarters.

It's going to be a weekend full of fun and history. Admission for this weekend's activities is free, though donations are welcome. Call 562-1195 or visit the facebook page for more information.
