Newburgh is proud of its history, as it should be. Washington's Headquarters State Historic Site in Newburgh will once again be celebrating George Washington's Birthday this weekend, Feb. 13-15 from noon-4pm at the site on the corner of Liberty and Washington Streets in Newburgh.

There will be music, military demonstrations, crafts for kids and adults, and historical presentations.  All three days the General will be greeting visitors in his office and balladeer Thad McGregor will be offering musical entertainment in the dining room.  On the grounds, reenactors will be performing military drills.  Lectures and talks are scheduled throughout the weekend, and children and adults are invited to create their own bookplate to use in their books at home.

Admission for this weekend's activities is free, though donations are welcome. Call 562-1195 or go to nysparks.com for details and a full schedule of events. You can also visit the facebook page at facebook.com/washingtonsheadquarters.
