Who'd love to live in a place that's nearly 240,000 miles away, where daytime temperatures can reach over two hundred degrees, and there's absolutely no air to breathe at all?

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos says he thinks humans are ready to colonize the Moon, and he's got just resources to do it.

We would like to set up a cargo service for that. We have architecture and technologies that would allow us to soft-land large amounts of mass on the moon, which would be necessary if you’re going to build a permanent human settlement there.

So who's going to go construct all these new cities on the Moon? Robots. Hmmm.

I think we should build a permanent human settlement on one of the poles of the moon. It’s time to go back to the moon, but this time to stay.

Bezos has another company called Blue Origin, that he funds with over on billion dollars of Amazon stock each year. The company is quickly growing. It currently has a number of ambitious projects such as the the New Shepard suborbital spaceship, and an orbital rocket project known as the New Glenn.

Bezos hopes the New Shepard ship will be ready to carry passengers into sub-orbit as ealry as next year.
