
$6K Worth of Pills Discovered During Traffic Stop, Police Say
The vehicle was outfitted with an electronically activated hidden compartment commonly used in the transportation of narcotics, weapons, and currency.
On June 7, 2019, members of the Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle, on the northbound ramp to the Taconic State Parkway at Bryant Pond Road in Putnam Valley, for multiple traffic violations.
During the traffic stop, Deputies detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. A subsequent investigation revealed that the vehicle’s operator, Robert Jessamy, and his female passenger, Coral January Velasquez, possessed more than 200 alleged oxycodone hydrochloride pills having an approximate street value of six thousand dollars ($6000).
Additionally, Ms. Velasquez possessed quantities of alleged MDMA and marijuana. The vehicle Mr. Jessamy was driving was outfitted with an electronically activated hidden compartment commonly used in the transportation of narcotics, weapons, and currency.
Both occupants were charged with 2 felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree.
Ms. Velasquez was additionally charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree (Misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana
