3 Men Charged for Possession of Loaded Gun In Newburgh
Three men were charged with possessing a loaded hand gun following an encounter in the City of Newburgh.
According to City of Newburgh Police, Orange County Deputies assigned to a directed patrol aimed at reducing gun violence in the City of Newburgh, approached a suspicious vehicle on Johnston St. When the passenger door opened and an item was allegedly thrown under the vehicle.
After a search of the vehicles area a loaded .38 caliber revolver was recovered. Police say the handguns serial number had been removed.
19-year-old Lashawn Grey, and 21-year-old Demetrice McClean, both of Newburgh, along with Maurice Everett, 20, of Cameron N.C. where all charged with criminal possession of a weapon, a felony.
All three were remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000.00 bail each.
On Friday February 19th, an 11-year-old City of Newburgh girl was shot by a stray bullet.
